VNS Annual Meeting Honors Amann, Chairman’s Award Winners
SHELTON—More than 160 employees, board members and agency supporters packed the main meeting room at the Shelton Marriott Courtyard October 7 as Visiting Nurse Services of Connecticut held its 99th Annual Meeting and recognized outgoing speaker of the Connecticut House of Representatives, James Amann, for his many years of support for home health services in the state.
Speaker Amann spoke to the group about his own personal experiences with home health care services and urged all to travel to the state capitol in Hartford to demand that lawmakers provide the financial support necessary to ensure that home health care services will always be available to Connecticut residents when they need them.
Also during the annual meeting event, some two dozen VNS staff members were recognized with service awards for their years of dedication to the agency. Additionally, VNS hospice nurse Linda Kale and information technology manager Richard Whitten received the agency’s two Chairman’s Awards for service over the past year most emblematic of the agency’s HEART values (Humor, Excellence, Attitude, Respect and Teamwork).
