Amann To Keynote VNS 99th Annual Meeting
BRIDGEPORT—The outgoing Speaker of the Connecticut House of Representatives, James A. Amann, will be the keynote speaker for the Visiting Nurse Services of Connecticut’s 99th Annual Meeting, set for October 7 in the Marriott Courtyard Hotel in Shelton. The event, which will run from 5:30-7:30 p.m., will also feature service award recognitions for agency staff and the announcement of the two VNS Chairman’s Award winners—staff who have gone above and beyond the call of duty in exemplifying the agency’s HEART values (Humor, Excellence, Attitude, Respect, Teamwork) in service to its patients.
Speaker Amann, who has represented Milford’s 118th District in the Connecticut for 18
years, has served as Speaker of that body since 2005. He is stepping down from his legislative service this year.
“We are very pleased that Speaker Amann will be joining us as our keynote speaker for this year’s annual meeting of our agency, the theme of which is teamwork, the final element of our HEART values, ” said VNS President William F. Sullivan, Jr. “Jim Amann has been a friend to home health care throughout his tenure in the Connecticut House and we look forward to hearing his thoughts about the importance of teamwork in meeting patient needs as well as the future of home based health services in our state.”
