VNS Celebrates Four Nightingale Winners
BRIDGEPORT—Visiting Nurse Services of Connecticut, one of
the state’s largest nonprofit home care providers, recently
celebrated the selection of four of its Registered Nurses as 2007
Nightingale Awards for Excellence in Nursing honorees. The VNS nurses
will be recognized during a ceremony at the Chevrolet Theatre in
Wallingford, one of four regional sites across the state which will
host Nightingale honoree celebrations on May 3. The VNS nurses were
selected for their clinical practice, leadership, scholarship and
educational activities.
VNS’ 2007 honorees are Tina Bernacki, RN, of Litchfield,
director of the VNS Hospice at Home Program™; Community Health
Nurse Karen Barthel, RN, of East Haven; Sue Erickson, RN, of Southport,
VNS Wound Care Coordinator and Community Health Nurse Joanne Phillips,
RN, of Oxford.
