BRIDGEPORT—Visiting Nurse Services of Connecticut, the nonprofit
home health agency which next year will celebrate its 100th anniversary,
is partnering with the 2008 Travelers Golf Championship to offer
area residents the chance to purchase tournament tickets at a reduced
price while also helping VNS to serve the community’s home
care needs. As a participant in the Travelers’ Chip In For
Charity program, VNS is offering one day tickets at $20 each, with
half the proceeds being returned to assist the home care provider
underwrite the cost of services for the uninsured and underinsured
in the Fairfield, New Haven and Litchfield counties the agency serves.
VNS typically provides about $2 million each year in uncompensated
home care services. This year’s Travelers Championship, which
attracts some of the world’s best players, will be held June
16-22 at the Tournament Players Club in Cromwell. Deadline to take
advantage of this offer is May 28.
